  • 250g Tilda Long Grain Rice
  • 2 tbsp neutral cooking oil
  • ½ red bell pepper
  • ½ green bell pepper
  • ½ cup of chopped vegetables, i.e. carrots, peas, sweetcorn. Use frozen vegetable medley
  • for less fuss and chopping
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ tbsp light soy sauce
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • ¼ tsp white pepper
  • 1 spring onion, finely chopped, white and green parts separated
  • Salt to taste

How to make Chinese Fried Rice

  1. In a frying pan, heat up 1 tbsp of oil and sauté the garlic and the white part of spring onions for 60 seconds until fragrant.

  2. Move the aromatics to one side and add another tbsp of oil, pour in the eggs and cook to scramble, before breaking it into smaller pieces.

  3. Make some space in the pan and add the vegetable medley and bell peppers, stir fry for another 1-2 minutes.

  4. Add in the rice along with the rest of the seasoning ingredients. Combine everything thoroughly and allow to cook for another 1-2 minutes.

  5. Throw in the green part of the spring onions just after turning off the heat. Toss through one last time and season to taste.

  6. Serve piping hot and enjoy!
