The search for the next Zest Quest Asia champion continues, with Tilda Foodservice joining Cyrus Todiwala in the drive to encourage colleges to enter the 2019 competition.
Launched to inspire catering students across the UK to consider Asian cookery as a future career, Zest Quest Asia recognises outstanding talent, knowledge and understanding of the cuisine. Tilda Foodservice, a gold sponsor of the competition – is urging colleges to enter before the 26th October 2018 deadline.
Along with a once in a lifetime star prize of a culinary trip to an Asian capital, Tilda’s ‘Best Use of Rice’ category offers an all-expenses paid package to London. The trip will include a visit to Tilda’s state-of-the art rice mill, an overnight stay at the brand new, Hilton Curio in Canary Wharf, as well as a 5-course dinner at either Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen – the hotel’s signature restaurant – or Cafe Spice Namaste – the Todiwalas’ landmark East London restaurant.
The educational prize will prove invaluable to both the winning college and students looking to develop their knowledge of Asian cuisine, and in particular the role of speciality rice in creating award-winning dishes.

Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala founded Zest Quest Asia in collaboration with the Master Chefs of Great Britain, to inspire students across the UK to consider Asian cookery as a future career. In so doing, the competition aims to help stem the skills shortage in Asian cuisine threatening the £4 billion Asian food industry, as well as encourage educationists to include classical Asian cookery in the curriculum.

The winners’ destination is a closely guarded secret, revealed only at the final cook off and gala dinner held on Friday, 8th February 2019 at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.
To date, five colleges and universities have been crowned Zest Quest Asia champions: University of Westminster, Farnborough College, Milton Keynes College, University College Birmingham, and current champions University of West London.
