About Tilda

At Tilda, we’re on a mission to embrace life in all its flavours. We pour our love and energy into producing the perfect rice. We don’t do anything else and we don’t produce for anyone else – for us, it’s all about rice.

Full of Curiosity

Taste is our guiding principle. It drives us to obsess over every grain, and pushes us to try new flavours and learn about different cultures. We’re also full of curiosity and optimism about life. This leads us to explore our impacts on people and the planet, from paddy to plate.

Our Impact

We’re deeply committed to minimising our impact on the environment and maximising the social and economic benefits for all the communities we work with.

Our History

Our Values

We are full of optimism and curiosity about food and life. We love inspiring and intriguing others. You’ll never catch us being passive. We like to get our hands, knives and forks dirty, and take an active role in culture. We believe that exploring different cultures through our shared love of food will help to create a more inclusive and accepting society. Of course, this is still rice… we haven’t lost our sense of perspective.

Nutrition

Only the best will do

Rice is considered a super-grain. It is gluten-free and low in fat, contains your essential amino acids and folic acid, is very low in sodium and contains no cholesterol.

Rice is also a low- to medium-GI food, which means that energy is released at a slower, steadier rate and gives a more balanced level of energy, keeping you fuller for longer. We are, however, more than just Basmati, and pride ourselves on only the highest-quality grains, from Pilau to Jasmine, Wild Rice and beyond.

Standards

Purity & Flavour

We ensure that only the best grains make their way into our packs and to your table. Using our over half a century of experience and expertise, we DNA-test every batch of Basmati to guarantee purity, age the Basmati naturally in the sun and in the gentle milling process, remove broken grains that release starch that causes rice to be sticky.
