In Europa wordt het veel gebruikt om mosterd van te maken, in het Oosten wordt het veel als specerij in gerechten verwerkt. De smaak van mosterd komt pas vrij als je het kneust of als het wordt vermengd met water. In de Indiase keuken wordt mosterdzaad dan ook een paar tellen in hete olie verwarmd voordat de overige ingredi\u00ebnten in de pan gaan.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Verschillende kleuren<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Je kan mosterdzaad vinden in verschillende kleuren: geel, bruin en zwart. De gele mosterdzaadjes hebben een pittige, scherpe smaak, maar ben je liefhebber van n\u00f3g scherper? Kies dan voor bruin of zwart mosterdzaad. Zwart mosterdzaad is echter wel moeilijk verkrijgbaar, dit moet namelijk nog met de hand geoogst worden.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Gerechten met mosterdzaad<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>De nootachtige smaak van mosterd combineert fantastisch met de nootachtige smaak van Basmati rijst.
