Food as fuel. Food as medicine. Food as inspiration.<\/p>\n<p>Seven chef teams from across the UK were challenged to create a two-course menu using Tilda rice as the key ingredient. Each menu was designed to fuel a sportsperson, supporting both performance and recovery, and showcasing how food can be both functional and full of flavour.<\/p>\n<p>Judges scored each dish on its nutritional impact, use of Tilda rice, alongside taste, flavour and presentation.<\/p>\n<p>2026 contestants included<br \/>\nFooditude Ltd<br \/>\nVacherin<br \/>\nESS<br \/>\nCompass<br \/>\nSodexo<\/p>\n\n            <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"content-section content-section--no-pad content-section--hudson-blue\" id=\"\">\n                \\\n\n    <div class=\"image-with-cta image-with-cta--centered-text image-with-cta--centered-image\">\n        <div class=\"image-with-cta__content\">\n            <div class=\"image-with-cta__container\">\n                                    <h2 class=\"title title__rice title__rice--left-2 title__rice--right-3\">\n                        <span>2026<\/span> <span>Best<\/span> <span>In<\/span> <span>Class<\/span>\n                    <\/h2>\n                \n                                    <p>Following an intense live cook-off, this year\u2019s Tilda Chef Team of the Year winners, Michael Broad and Elizabeth Mackenzie from Fooditude Ltd, impressed judges with a menu that balanced creativity, flavour and performance-led nutrition.<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on the experience, the duo described the competition as \u201cexhilarating, stressful, but really good fun,\u201d highlighting both the intensity of the live environment and the enjoyment of working with high-quality ingredients. Their main course paired wild rice with a crispy basmati tostada and fresh trout ceviche, creating a dish that was light, balanced and full of contrast.<br \/>\n\u201cWe used basmati for its performance benefits and wild rice for texture, crisping it up to add something you don\u2019t often see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For dessert, coconut rice arancini was combined with caramelised pineapple and passionfruit cream, bringing together indulgence and freshness.
