Mary\u2019s Meals, the charity that recently hit a major milestone of feeding two million children every school day in some of the world\u2019s poorest countries, has launched its Double The Love campaign and we\u2019re right behind them, waving our Tilda flag in support!<\/p>\n

Donations made to the charity before 31st<\/sup> January 2022 will be doubled by a group of generous supporters, up to \u00a31.6 million. Including those from Tilda, where each bag of rice bought from our wholegrain range doubles up as a donated meal for a child. This will help provide a nutritious meal at school to hungry children, attracting them into the classroom where they can receive an education and the chance of a brighter future.<\/p>\n

The Scotland-based charity is one that we admire immensely and are proud to support. Mary\u2019s Meals began in a shed in Argyll in 2002, feeding a commendable 200 children in Malawi and has gone from strength to strength now feeding more than two million children every school day in 19 countries around the world. With its Double The Love campaign, they\u2019re hoping to feed even more children.<\/p>\n

Daniel Adams, executive director of Mary\u2019s Meals, says: \u201cI hope people will donate to Mary\u2019s Meals this winter so that we can access\u00a0all of the \u00a31.6\u00a0million\u00a0of match funding that is available to us.\u00a0These funds\u00a0really will change the lives of children facing the most difficult circumstances, including\u00a0natural disasters, conflict, and the ongoing Covid pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thanks to the match-funding campaign, until the end of January 2022, a donation of just \u00a315.90 will feed two children with Mary\u2019s Meals for a whole school year.<\/p>\n

Annette Coggins, Head of Foodservice, Tilda UK added: \u201cWe\u2019re so pleased to see that the work that Mary\u2019s Meals do is able to continue through these hard times and it\u2019s so encouraging to see how far these donations can go! The fact that they\u2019ll be doubled over the next few months is absolutely extraordinary and we urge as many people as possible to get involved!\u201d<\/p>\n

Operators can contribute to the growing number of meals donated by purchasing a 5kg bag of Tilda\u2019s wholegrain range, which includes Tilda Brown & White, Tilda Brown Basmati and Tilda Wholegrain Brown Rice. For every bag purchased, Tilda will donate a meal to a child through Mary\u2019s Meals \u2013 meaning that until 31st<\/sup> January 2022, two meals will make their way to hungry children!<\/p>\n
